Dr. Scott Weiner is a fellowship-trained shoulder and elbow orthopedic surgeon with expertise in complex shoulder reconstruction and advanced arthroscopic procedures. He attended medical school at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed residency training within the Northwell Health system. Dr Weiner continued his training in shoulder and elbow surgery at Johns Hopkins University. While his focal interest is the upper extremity, he is also skilled in treating patients with general orthopedic concerns such as fracture care, sports-related injuries, and arthritic conditions.
Dr. Weiner’s passion for treating the upper extremity comes from years of specialized training and research, including a traveling fellowship to train with leading European shoulder and elbow surgeons and a clinical research role at the Cleveland Clinic. He has co-authored multiple peer-reviewed articles and book chapters regarding shoulder and elbow disorders, and he has presented findings at national orthopedic meetings.
Dr. Weiner is a proponent of shared decision-making with his patients. His attention to a patient’s needs, preferences, and lifestyle helps guide and optimize care. “In working with a patient, we are able to devise a treatment plan that will maximize recovery while minimizing inconvenience,” he says. The highlight of his work is helping patients recover from injury and return to their favorite activities.
In his free time, Dr. Weiner enjoys golfing and rooting for New York sports teams.
